~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please notice all of the blue in these pictures.
When I was a child--back in the covered wagon days--Halloween was a carefree holiday where we dressed in fun, happy costumes and got free candy. No decorations were necessary, and it did not cost much to participate. I don't ever remember being scared.
We had little if any money, and Mama would sew costumes for me, my twin brother, and my younger sister. I remember one year, using an orange and white checkered piece of material, my brother and I went as Jack and Jill. She simply made a skirt for me and a pair of pants for my brother. We wore our own white shirts! (Mama was quite creative and a good "salesperson"! She could convince us that the costumes she'd made were special.)
Betty Rubble from the Flintstones is my kinda costume! Look at all of that lovely blue!
Costumes were no more scary than this blue pirate costume.
If anyone was a ghost, they would be a friendly one, flying through the blue sky.
I really don't like scaring small children.
Matter of fact, I'd rather laugh.
Happy Blue Monday!
Pink Saturday Dog & Cancer Survivor
When I spotted these two dressed as Piglet and Pooh, and the little guy in Pink, I thought you might get a chuckle. Neither dog is mine; I copied this picture from the internet.
Precious Beverly at How Sweet the Sound hosts Pink Saturday.
Please Pause at her Place to see Plenty of other Pretty Pink items that Precious Pink Participating People are Presently Presenting for your Perusing Pleasure.
They've Plotted, Planned, and Preformed to Perfection so you can take a Peek.
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Everyone has been touched by the horrible disease of cancer. October is all about breast cancer. It seems that the world is saturated with Pink. We are all praying for a cure.
I am an Ovarian Cancer survivor. It's known as the silent killer as symptoms are often vague. It grows undetected, and few of its victims survive.
Teal blue is the color of the ovarian cancer ribbon.
Twenty-one years ago, I had a mass the size of a grapefruit removed, along with all the rest of my "lady parts." It had not metastasized. Although I had to visit an oncologist for five years, I never had to go through chemo or radiation.
No matter what color, I am truly a blessed woman.
Blue Monday - Alligator!
Welcome! It's Blue Monday! I'm so glad you came to play.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We used to live on a lake, and we now have a small pond in our backyard. It's so peaceful; I love to see the blue sky reflecting in the water. People often ask if any alligators live in the water. I've always answered that I've never seen any. However, this is Florida, and where there's water, there could be a gator.

Last Monday, Johnny spotted an alligator strolling in our front yard! He watched it as it continued through to our back yard and into the pond. Then, he grabbed the camera. Here's the proof. You'll have to squint, but it's that small dot in the water.

This shot is a little closer.

I'm sure this shot is close enough. Wanna come over for a swim?

Low Mileage Kitchen

Shelia at Note Songs is having a party, and I just couldn't miss it! Besides, this is a good excuse to show off my new kitchen.

My kitchen is Low Mileage because I seldom cook. While my children were growing up, I prepared three meals a day. I even bagged their lunches on school days.

However, after my children had flown from the nest, I began college. I was old, I was working full time, and I needed to find some time in my schedule for all of those homework assignments. The solution: Take-out! I ask you, if God wanted me to cook, why are there Burger Kings?

After completing college, I never looked back. (Hey, I'm no dummy! I like being spoiled.)

Here's a shot of my cherry cabinets. The ceiling is twelve feet high. This presented a dilemma as I'd never before put things on cabinet tops.

However, it was fun! I loved decorating the tops of the cabinets. That huge pitcher on top of the refrigerator is the only blue in this room. (I'm sure that surprises many who know me only for Blue Monday.)

We had crown molding added to the cabinets and installed lighting underneath. It's especially pretty at night.

My kitchen provokes memories of bloggers. For instance, Gloria at Happy to Be sent me a bunch of Autumn decorations last year when all of my decorations were boxed up and in storage. I've used all of them again this year; don't these two delightful candy corn candles look perfect on my kitchen counter?

My favorite aunt gave me this sweet, pink pedestal dish many years ago. I'm a well-trained blogger, and I think of Beverly at How Sweet the Sound whenever I see pink. I use this dish to hold my faux fruit. You might notice that I put REAL labels on several of the pieces of fruit to help them look more authentic. Once, one of my grandchildren, was all set to bite into the plum before I stopped her!

Here's the other side of the kitchen.
You can see the entrance to the laundry room, with the door to the garage.

I think of BJ at Sweet Nothings whenever I see this little black and red oven dress.
I bought it at a craft fair some time ago.

Check out my sidebar for some book giveaways.

See you for Blue Monday!

Blue Monday - Blue Water Dispenser

Isn't blue a marvelous color? It seems to be found wherever I go!

It's Blue Monday!
For instructions, just click here.

Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I never thought about buying water before I moved last year. Whenever I wanted a drink, I'd just get some from my tap; if I wanted it chilled, I had a refrigerator with a dispenser of ice and water in the door.
The water where I live now has a different taste. It doesn't seem to bother most folks, but it sure bothers me. So, I've turned into a consumer! Yep, I buy some of those plastic bottles that clog the landfills. (Shh! Please don't tell.) At least I recycle them.
I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't like the taste of the local water. Look what I found not too far from where I live: water for sale! Of course, it's a beautiful eye-catching blue.
This unique stand is located in a corner, in the parking lot of a strip mall. If you wish, you can click on any picture to read the instructions. I tried my best to get close enough for you to read.
There's a little, clear, plastic door that covers this spot. Johnny held it open for me so that I could get a clear photo for you. This is where the water comes out. Just place the empty container, and...
It's 25¢ per gallon, 75¢ for 3 gallons, or $1.00 for 5 gallons. You must supply your own container(s).
While we were there, a lady stopped to buy some water. Look at the containers at her feet. I guess she spent $1.00. It didn't take long, and she was on her way. Perhaps I could try this and save a landfill or two.
I think it's ironic to find Artic water in Florida!
Blue Monday - Blue Store
Welcome! It's Blue Monday! For instructions, just click here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Notice the lovely blue tile on the exterior of this special store. The sign on this blue store says, "It's Great to be a Florida Gator." The reflection makes it difficult for us to window shop, so let's go inside.

Inside, you will be able to purchase as many blue shirts as you'd like.

There are blue shirts all over the place with many different sayings on them!

Need a blue Gator shirt? They're right here! I know that Jeanne's husband at Backyard Neighbor would like to shop here.

Even the local restaurants show their blue Gator pride. See the framed art work hanging on the back wall? You know you're in Gainesville, Florida!

Happy Blue Monday!
